February 20 - This wednesday we spoke to Jaqueline Einhorn of the Coin Galleries of Oyster Bay. The Coin Galleries opened up in 1999 in the former North Shore Bank Building located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Audrey Avenue and South Street. Since then the Coin Galleries have expanded with seven different locations throughout Long Island. Despite their specific name the Coin Galleries buys and sells more than just coins; they offer a wide range of items from jewelry to entertainment memorabilia. They also have an experienced staff available on hand to buy, sell or even just give a free appraisal of your coins, stamps, jewelry, gold, silver or other collectibles.
If you are interested in coin collecting, the Coin Galleries offers a wide array of coins for sale. Among others, they have:
- foreign coins
- ancient coins from 300 AD Rome and Greece, and
- collectible coins from the United States
Beyond that, they have an assortment of books on collecting and other supplies such as starter sets, coin capsules and 2X2 holders for both novice and the experienced coin collectors.
